Join us on Friday, March 8, 5:30 to 8:00 PM, for the exhibit opening and a presentation by Marilyn Anderson at 6:30.

The event honors International Women’s Day, with special emphasis on the work of Maya women weavers. This show celebrates the art of Guatemalan women, other artisans, and their arts and crafts traditions who contribute to building and maintaining their culture and community.

A second part of the exhibit is a portrait series of Mayan women along with panels of names of women who were killed or disappeared during the civil war of the 1980s. The exhibit as a whole commemorates the thousands of women who lost their lives or became refugees during those years.

The exhibit will be on view from March 8 to April 30, 2019, Monday-Friday, 10 AM. to 4 PM.
